Sharing some blog love...

I have been meaning to do this for a while now, and I finally have a few minutes to myself while Braeden is watching Iggle Piggle (I hate ITNG, but hey, if it keeps him out of my hair for 5 mins, I will take it!).

I want to share with you some of my favourite blogs at the moment. I say 'at the moment' because, some of my fave bloggers aren't posting right now, so they will get a mention another time!
These blogs are ones that inspire me, that make me laugh, cry, and want to keep blogging.
So here they are, in no particular order:

Sharalyn, has two blogs: Here and this one She has a son with Autism whom she homeschools. What inspires me about Sharalyn is how she views Autism and the things she teaches J. I love reading her blog because she shares the same ideals as me when it comes to having a person with a disability in your life.

Melissa, is only new to this blogging world, but I just love reading about her daughter Ellie  Ellie has WHS like Ryley, and Mel is still only very new to the world of WHS. Ellie is just beautiful and I am very much looking forward to meeting her in person very soon.

There is another Melissa whose blog I find inspiring too. Despite the battles that Melissa faces, she writes honestly and openly and in doing so, shares her insights into mental illness. Her writing is absolutely beautiful and she is very talented.

Alison is another inspiring blogger who has a beautiful family. I love reading her blog and seeing her beautiful daughters growing up. She shares lots of great information about what it is like living with a child with a disability.

And finally, last, but not least, another WHS Mumma from the US. Knowing Norrah is a beautiful blog written by a beautiful Mum. One day I would love to meet Lauren and her gorgeous family in real life. I think we would talk and talk and talk. I laugh and cry when I read her blog. Her photography is amazing.

So these are a few of my fave blogs right now. I make sure I read them every day, even if I don't have time to write in my own!
So take a look, you might well be inspired too.

    Thanks for the LOVE! I do believe we could talk together for days and have definitely thought about coming out to Australia (somewhere my husband really has always wanted visit) and meeting up with you at some point. So... I will keep the dream alive and hopefully we really will meet in person one day.

    I read yours everyday too even if I don't have time to post mine! Its funny how you can have so much in common with people you've never met IRL. There are lots of bloggers I would LOVE to meet one day (including you) - I'd love to do a round the world tour catching up with blog friends.

Some things just never get easier

I have logged back in to write today as we come to the end of lockdown 3.0. I just saw in my unpublished posts my thoughts about lockdown 1.0. Hmmm. I might publish that one day!  Today's topic feels like something I have written about before. Over the past few weeks, Ryley has been undergoing assessments. These assessments are necessary in order for us to receive adequate funding under the NDIS.  Long story short, Ryley's last NDIS plan has failed to provide the funding he needs in order to participate fully in the things we had planned for his transition out of school.  The whole process has felt a bit messy.  It started with me not being listened to. This is despite my strong, knowledgeable-of-systems-and guidelines voice. No blaming or shaming here. It just is as it is.  However, for those that know me well, know that when you try and 'quieten' my voice, I will only speak louder. Blogging 101-how do I do this again?

Sometimes I wander back into this blog and check out a few of my past posts. I read some of the wonderful blogs I used to follow regularly and contemplate writing here again.  So many things have changed in my life over the past few years.  The teenage years are...difficult.  I feel very alone in this raising a teenage boy with WHS thing. There is no one really to answer my questions, and I spend most of my days feeling as though my son hates me. I know he doesn't, but this is tough. Way tougher than I thought it would be.  So here I am.  Tracking my journey again. It may help others.  It may help me. But I feel as though there is so little support out there for parents who have teenagers with WHS...or any other disability for that matter.  I feel compelled to write. So, I will eventually update this blog so it looks a bit fancier and with the times again (ha!). But this is me. Raw. Unedited. Changed.

Defeated...for now

At the moment, I am just surviving. I should have known it was only a matter of time before I fell over again and needed some help to get back up. Stress. Anxiety. Exhaustion. They seem to come hand in hand don't they? And I should have really just taken a moment when I felt the stress building up. I should have just said 'hey, I need a day or two to myself'. But I didn't. And here I am. I am ok by the way. Just in between sick kids, a sick me, work, a zillion extra appointments to somehow squeeze into my already full days...well...it all just became a bit much. Cue: Me in tears sitting in my Managers office. Thank goodness I have a supportive and wonderful workplace. She saw I needed time out and told me to take it. The worst bit of it all is the stupid anxiety that came back. For those that suffer from anxiety (whether it be a sometimes thing like me, or an ongoing disorder), it truly sucks the life out of you.
