30 Days of Thankfulness-Day 5

Today I am thankful for this website: Anxiety No More.

Now most people will know that I experience some anxiety from time to time.
It appears after a lengthy time of stress that I don't do anything about.
It is my body's way of saying 'hey-you need to slow down for a bit'.
It is unpleasant, annoying and sometimes just makes you feel like you are never going to feel ok again.

I have been burnt out basically.

This website and the book that I bought, have been fantastic.
It has helped me understand myself and my body and why sometimes our bodies respond to stress by increasing the adrenalin (thus giving us those unpleasant feelings-which then make us worry-which then take us into the anxiety cycle).
I also sought help from a professional, who pretty much told me everything that this book talks about.

I have also talked about Compassion Fatigue before too, and this is certainly relevant to me.

I am thankful that my anxiety levels are pretty much back to normal again.
I am thankful that I have learnt that I need to spend more time doing the things that I love, with the people that I love, and the people that love me.

The website has some great information. It may not be relevant to anyone reading this who experiences anxiety. But I found it useful. So if someone else finds it useful too, then that is great!

  3. Thanks, Anna, for the referral to the website..it's something we could all use a dose of. Some times we just get deeply "soul weary"' a much darker place than "body weary"

  4. I am not one for 'self-help' type books to be honest. But this website and book actually were well worth it. It may not suit everyone, but I always like to pass on information that is useful to me, you never know who else might find it useful too!
