The arrival of our chooks

We are proud to announce 3 new additions to our family.
Their names are Steve, Hopper/Poppa and Car.
They are all brown and they cluck a lot.
So far, so good. They seem to like their new home and have been busy eating bok choy, zucchini and green tomatoes.
They have threatened to peck Rex's nose if he is so silly as to put it through the wire.
They have already given Charley dirty looks.
They fit in beautifully.

Now to just get them laying and then they can stay.

Braeden wanted me to take a picture of him and Stanley.

All rugged up.

  2. How fun! Emma's class is responsible for the school chickens - she loves them - and the eggs definitely have more flavour than ones that have been on the shelves for weeks.

  5. Jen-Happy to share eggs once they start laying properly. Only Steve is laying at the moment!!
Alison-I love the fresh eggs. They do taste so much better!!
Hilary- Our Hen Steve has already laid 3 eggs! The other two are only pullets so not quite ready to lay yet.
Mel-The kids do love them! Unfortunately so do the dogs, so it will be interesting to see how they go once we let them roam the backyard a bit!
